Why do you need at least a 5/1 Terminator diameter to line diameter ratio?

Below is what happens to Dynex Dux when you bend it on too tight of a

 radius. 

The line kinks and puts individual strands in compression,

 permanently damaging the UHMWPE fiber.  This diminishes

 the overall strength of the line, limiting your factor of safety at a very critical

load point. 

But even worse is that it increases the creep effect.

For the strongest, longest lasting, shrouds with the least amount of creep use

 only Colligo Marine Line Terminators.  The only braided, synthetic line

 terminations, deadeyes, etc. that meet the requirements for Dynex Dux line

 from Hampidjan.
